A method for shielding areas from being coated by paint. This may be decorative or protective and includes EMI, RFI shielding for selective finishing. Sometimes, parts require more than one type of finish. Arnold's Metal Finishing offers precision masking that seals one area from the other allowing complex, multiple process coatings on the same part.
Masking is performed on many of the parts we process using a variety of means for selectively coating the hardware. Paints, waxes, tapes, plugs, mechanical masks, and even other finishes are used to protect the areas which are to be free from plating, anodizing, or other finishes. AMF offers a variety of masking techniques to ensure that any surface on any part can be free of anodizing if required. We use plugs, glues, screws, paints, and tapes to complete total coverage of the surface area that has to remain in it's raw state. ARNOLD'S METAL FINISHING can develop and manufacture custom masking for programs that have a repeatable requirement and shorter lead times.
